At about 10 p.m. in north Minneapolis on Illion Avenue North, two parties fired at each other and struck an unrelated person in a car. The victim was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The suspects fled and the case is under investigation.
Officers spoke with a man in his 20s with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds after receiving a shoot report from Hennepin County Medical Center. The man said he was shot at near Fifth Street North and Napco Avenue around 4:45 a.m. Police are investigating.
Responding to a 911 call around 4 a.m. of a person who had been shot and was being held against their will, police took a suspect into custody near Girard Avenue South and West 34th Street. Officers freed the person being held who had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound; the victim self-transported to North Memorial. An investigation is underway.
Two people were also cut with bladed instruments in unrelated incidents.
A man in his 20s was cut during an attempted robbery in the Loring Park neighborhood and taken to North Memorial by emergency responders. The suspect fled.
At 8:32 p.m., another person was slashed with a weapon — which police think may have been a box cutter — and taken to HCMC. The suspect fled. Investigators are working on both cases.
