Cal Quantrill struck out nine over seven shutout innings and the Cleveland Indians' pitching staff shined in a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels at the Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., on Sunday.
With Cleveland donning "Great Lakes" uniforms and the Angels wearing ones that read "West" in the style of the team uniforms for the Little League World Series, the Indians took an early lead on a two-run home run by Amed Rosario and allowed only four Angels hits. The game was the first for MLB in Williamsport since the Cubs and Pirates played in 2019, as last year's game was canceled.
MLB announced Sunday that the Red Sox and Orioles, who were supposed to play in 2020, will meet in Williamsport in 2022.
The 2021 Little League World Series began on Thursday and runs through Aug. 29.
