A soaking rain on Saturday minimized fire activity across the entire Rough Patch Complex and Jack Fire.
An update from the Great Basin Incident Management Team 2 said a strong front early Saturday morning brought over 1.5 inches of rain, along with low wind speeds and cool temperatures that slowed growth overall. A drying trend is expected starting Monday afternoon. Moderate fire activity is expected by mid-week as fuel moistures dry out.
The Chaos Fire has had minimal growth and is at 28,696 acres. The Little Bend Fire is up slightly to 9,382 acres.
The Jack Fire is still at 24,165 acres while the Buckhead Fire has grown slightly to 7,224 acres. The Near Minky Fire is unchanged at 4,868 acres.
Containment on the Rough Patch Complex is up slightly to 37 percent while the Jack Fire remains 55 percent contained.
