CalFire announces power shut-offs for Northern California - KDRV

UPDATE: CalFire Siskiyou Unit announces a power shut-off will happen tomorrow (9/13) for the following locations:

• City Of Weed
• Lake Shastina
• Hammond Ranch
• Up I-5 to Granada

The shut-offs are due to high winds and extreme fire danger. The shut-off will be from 10 AM-5PM or until wind danger subsides. PP&L will have crews in the area patrolling both during shutoff and re-entergizing process.

Siskiyou County is also under a Red Flag Warning till 11 p.m. Sunday evening. Please use extreme caution while enjoying outdoor activites and while using powered equipment (generators, lawn mowers, ect) make sure you have proper clearance from flammable material.

WEED, Calif. — Pacific Power continues to closely monitor weather conditions in Weed, Calif., which is considered a high fire risk area. The company may issue a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Sunday, Sept. 13 beginning late morning and extending into the early evening due to high winds and other potential wildfire risks.

Approximately 2,500 customers in Weed could be affected.

Affected customers were notified yesterday through phone calls, email and text messages. Affected customers will continue to receive updates through ongoing communications.

Customers can use the interactive map at www.pacificpower.net/psps to see if they are located in a PSPS area. Customers are encouraged to be prepared and have an outage kit ready.
