The Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings shut down their training facilities due to the Titans having three players and five personnel staffers test positive for COVID-19.
The NFL announced that the Titans and Vikings will work remotely.
The Texans host the Vikings on Sunday at NRG Stadium.
If the Vikings are cleared through continued testing and contact tracing, then they'll be able to travel and play the Texans on Sunday.
The Texans had a batch of false positives
"On Tuesday morning, the Titans COVID testing results returned three new player positives and five new personnel positives," the NFL said in a statement. "The Titans will suspend in-person club activities starting today. Likewise, the Vikings, who played the Titans on Sunday, will also suspend in-person club activities.
"Both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA, including our infectious disease experts, to evaluate close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor developments. All decisions will be made with health and safety as our primary consideration. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available."
The Texans dealt with a batch of false positive COVID-19 tests for multiple players in advance of Sunday's road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
Subsequent retests were all negative and no one's status was affected for the game at Heinz Field.
"The system worked," a source said.
The Texans haven't had any positive COVID-19 tests or players placed on the reserve-COVID-19 list since reporting for training camp after several players tested positive during the summer. Testing is administered by BioReference Laboratories for all NFL teams.
