A crash involving a pedestrian early Monday morning on Interstate 80 East in Knowlton Township shut the highway for a time in that direction, authorities say.

By 5:45 a.m., the right lane had reopened, according to New Jersey State Police at Hope.

The pedestrian’s condition was not immediately available, a trooper at the barracks said.

The incident was west of the Delaware Water Gap rest area, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said, and less than two miles from the Pennsylvania border.

All lanes were open just after 6:30 a.m., the DOT’s traffic map showed.
