HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Huntsville Police officers are on the scene of a wreck with serious injuries on I-565 near the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.
Police officers say the wreck occurred at 9:15 p.m. All eastbound lanes of I-565 in the area are shut down.
Officers tell WAFF 4 vehicles were involved. According to police, one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
Drivers should avoid the area. Eastbound traffic is being diverted off the interstate at the Old Madison Pike exit. The Sparkman Drive Eastbound on-ramp is also closed. The interstate will reopen once the wreck is cleared.
