
SEATTLE — A crash and vehicle fire shut down Interstate 90 at Island Crest Way on Sunday.
The crash happened inside the Mount Baker Tunnel in Seattle.
The driver of the vehicle escaped the vehicle after hitting a sidewall and then fled on foot before first responders arrived. The driver was found by troopers and taken into custody for investigation of driving under the influence.
Fire crews who responded were able to put out the fire quickly.
The collision caused a long backup, and crews are working to clear the scene of the crash.
WSDOT said traffic has been moving intermittently during the cleanup.
The crash is under investigation.
