RUSSELL TOWNSHIP, Ohio --

Fraud, Woodsway Lane:

A man reported to police Jan. 27 that someone filed for unemployment benefits using his information. He contacted his local office for Job and Family Services to report the fraud, as well.

Fraud, Caves Road:

Someone claiming to be from The Federal Reserve called a woman trying to obtain her personal information, she told police 1:30 p.m. Jan. 28. She did not divulge anything, but, wanted police to be aware of the scam.

Assist fire department, Watt Road:

Police and fire were called 7:30 a.m. Jan. 29 for a structure fire in the wall behind a wood burning stove. Police closed the road while firefighters extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.

Traffic hazard, Chillicothe Road:

Motorists complained of having to stop or swerve around empty salt bags blowing around the road 11:45 a.m. Jan. 29 at the Fairmount Road intersection. An officer found and removed about 20 empty bags.

Suspicious, Dale Road:

A resident’s Ring camera showed a male walking near the back door 9:30 a.m. Feb. 7. An officer arrived and checked the home, which was fine.

Suspicious, Kinsman Road:

Police are investigating a burglary reported Feb. 11. Further details were not available.
