Warren Shockey tossed a five-hit shutout as host Riverside beat West Liberty-Salem 3-0 on Thursday. The Pirates are now 11-8 on the season. The Tigers slip to 8-12.

Riverside grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning and increased its lead to 2-0 in the second inning. The Pirates tacked on another run in the fifth inning.

Shockey struck out nine and did not walk a batter in getting the win. Zane Rose homered to lead the Riverside offense. Kale Long added an RBI. For the Tigers, Adam LaRoche had two hits.

WL-Salem is back in action today at Northeastern and the Pirates play at Anna on Saturday.

Late surge sends Raiders past Graham

Benjamin Logan scored five runs in the top of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie and beat host Graham 7-2 in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game.

The Raiders are now 22-1 overall and 14-1 in the CBC. Graham falls to 11-11, 6-9.

Ben Logan scored a run in the first inning. Graham plated two runs in the third inning for a 2-1 advantage. The Raiders rallied with a run in the sixth inning to tie the score at 2-2. Ben Logan then came up with its big seventh inning to jump in front.

Kade Arn went the distance on the mound to get the win for the Raiders. He allowed four hits, two walks and struck out seven. He did not give up an earned run.

Offensively for the Raiders, Brady Burrey went 2-3 with an RBI, Austin McGowan had a double and Kainan Stoner had three RBI. Ben Logan is back in action today at home

against Kenton Ridge.

Chiefs slip to Cougars

For the second straight day, Bellefontaine’s baseball team dropped a 3-0 decision to host Kenton Ridge on Thursday.

The Chiefs, who lost 3-0 at home against Kenton Ridge on Wednesday, fall to 8-12 overall and 5-10 in the CBC. The Cougars are now 17-5, 13-2.

The Cougars scored a run in the first inning, one in the fourth and another in the fifth.
Bellefontaine was limited to three hits. Markus Brugler had a double to spark the Chiefs.

Jarrid Baughman suffered the loss for the Chiefs. He allowed six hits and three walks while striking out four. The Chiefs play at Northwestern today.
