Four teenagers were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday evening on Route 22 West in Bethlehem that shut the highway for hours, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Nori Colon, 18, was driving a 2007 Honda Accord with Jaydaci Correa, 18; Zayon Smith, 19; and a 13-year-old boy as passengers, troopers said. All are from Bethlehem.
Colon was driving on the ramp from Route 378 North to Route 22 West, when the car traveled across both lanes of Route 22 West and crashed into the concrete barrier separating it from Route 22 East.
Emergency radio reports indicated four people were trapped in the car when emergency personnel were called.
All four teens were severely injured, troopers said. Three were taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill and a fourth was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
Troopers from the Bethlehem barracks are investigating the crash, and ask anyone with information to call 610-861-2026.
