A vehicle fire Thursday morning on an Interstate 78 off ramp to Route 222 in South Whitehall Township briefly shut the highway, according to a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation camera.
The fire was reported at 7:22 a.m. and one lane of traffic began to get by again about 7:50 a.m. After 8 a.m., two lanes were open but the exit was shut.
The exit -- 54B -- was shut as fire crews just before 8 a.m. doused what appeared to be an overturned trailer, the traffic camera showed.
It wasn’t immediately clear if there were injuries.
Pennsylvania State Police from the Fogelsville barracks are investigating.
