Turning up the activity - LEX18 Lexington KY News

cicingwos.blogspot.com

It’s been a pretty quiet day across Kentucky with only a few isolated t-storms. What hasn’t changed is the heat and humidity across the region. Mostly to partly cloudy skies has made for a great looking day but has also ramped up the temperature. Since early in the afternoon temperatures have achieved the upper 80s and low 90s and we’ll park it there through the rest of the afternoon.

Other than a few isolated pop-ups, there not much happening today. Most of the activity has been confined to the southeast counties. Tomorrow, things will change as a cold front dips south with a storm system attached. Thursday morning will already see showers developing but more will flare into the afternoon and evening. As of now, it seems that the severe storm chance remains southwest of Kentucky. Still, strong storms are possible with a potential for damaging wind gusts and heavy rain. Flood potential will certainly be present if a strong storm moves overhead and takes a while to leave. Be aware of these potentials through the rest of the week and into the weekend as this system will remain over us for a while. Temperatures will take a dip through it all and we should be struggling to breach the mid-80s through the weekend.
