Activity fair in Peoria Saturday offers ideas, jobs - Heart of Illinois ABC

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) -Staying active over the summer is often easier said than done for some young people.

Here come some ideas at a special event this weekend.

Peoria’s Wraparound center at Trewyn school is the site for an activity fair on Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It’s for any and all PPS students and their parents to learn about the resources, organizations and pro-social activities that always need new recruits.

“So, families can come out here and hear about a variety of different organizations, mentoring groups, summer jobs that are available for our youth this spring and this summer,” said Derrick Booth, director of the Wraparound center. “And so it’s just an opportunity for parents to understand what is available.”

Peoria police will have info on their Explorers program.

Dream Center Peoria, the Southside Mission and other groups are signed up.
