Burger fans have one less place to land as Fuddruckers locations in Southern California have shut down.

Its parent company, Houston-based Luby’s Inc., announced June 3 that it is selling operating divisions and assets to distribute net proceeds to stockholders after paying debt.  “We believe that proceeding with this sale process followed by distributions contemplated under a proceeds distribution plan will maximize value for our stockholders, while also preserving the flexibility to pursue a sale of the Company should a compelling offer that delivers superior value be made,” Christopher J. Pappas, Chief Executive Officer and President of Luby’s, said in the announcement.

A note about the closure was posted at the remaining Lake Forest location on El Toro Road thanking customers for their years of patronage. Ontario and Buena Park restaurants were listed as closed on Yelp. The Burbank and Lakewood stores shuttered before the COVID-19 crisis.
