BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police have shut down parts of I-83 after a fatal accident Tuesday morning at the E. 28th Street exit.
Officials say they got a call just after 10:30 a.m. for a multi-vehicle accident with a vehicle fire.
Baltimore Fire reports one person died and another went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway is shut down from the Coldspring exit, and Baltimore police are asking drivers to choose a different route.
Both sides of I-83 were temporarily shut down, but the northbound side has reopened.
People were trying to assist in getting someone, presumably the driver, out of the car.
ATTENTION: Avoid I-83 south of Cold Spring. Truck fire at the median affecting traffic on both sides. I had nothing to offer that wasn’t already covered, but I’m praying that they got the driver out. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 @traffic_bmore @MarylandTraffic @JimWBALTraffic pic.twitter.com/eeIXlD6yuo
