Seeing a flare up of storms early this morning thanks to the trough of low pressure that has move in overhead. Most of what we have so far is isolated pop-up showers and thundershowers. However, on the northwest side of the forecast area, there is a more stratiform area of showers that will slide in through the day today. Otherwise, it’s mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 50s and 60s.

Showers will be off and on today as the trough of low-pressure slides through. One wave will be particularly widespread, but if you’re not around it you’ll have a chance for a few isolated showers or storms. If you’re caught under one, you’ll get a heavy downpour and a few strong wind gusts. Hail is also possible with stronger storms, especially later this afternoon. There will be times without the rain and thunderstorms, so if you have outdoor plans, be prepared, but watch the radar. If you hear thunder, head inside and wait out the storm. We’ll lose the activity overnight as temperatures fall and the low moves over West Virginia. Tomorrow, showers will move back in, but this time from the east. This is due to the back-building of the center of low pressure. We will have another chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially east of I-75 and in the afternoon and evening.
