The activity is characterized by strong eruptions as occurred at 09:08 local time today. Vulcanian-type eruption ejected pyroclastic material up to 17,000 ft (5,200 m) altitude which drifted N. As the lava dome continues to increase in size by the day, more explosions and pyroclastic flows can be expected in the near future. The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 3 km distance from the main crater and 5 km on the SE flank and 4 km on the NE flank.
