NSP: Watch out for icy roads - KOLN

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Several roads in central and eastern Nebraska are completely covered with snow Saturday morning. There is 3.5″ of snow recorded at the Lincoln Airport.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, roads may look just wet, but are actually ice covered. Troopers are reporting black ice in areas that got snow/drizzle overnight. NSP says to take it slow, increase following distance, turn off the cruise control, and put the phone down. Troopers are ready to help and call *55 if you need it.

Time: 12:45 p.m.

City operations:  Traffic management has ended winter operations for this weather event.

Street conditions: Arterial streets range from wet with isolated slush to partially dry.  Paved surfaces will continue drying throughout the day due to rising temperatures and sunshine. Drivers should remain alert for slick spots and areas of refreeze as temperatures drop this evening.
