Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew II, who was listed as questionable to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday with a thumb injury, will not dress, the team announced on Sunday.

Minshew has missed Jacksonville’s last two games with a strained ligament and multiple fractures in his right, throwing thumb. The 24-year-old second-year passer has 1,855 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions in seven starts with the Jaguars this season.

He’ll be replaced by sixth-round rookie Jake Luton, who started each of the last two games. Luton has thrown for 473 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in losses to Houston and Green Bay over the last two weeks.

Luton was the 189th overall selection in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oregon State, where he threw for over 5,000 yards in three seasons. Luton will be backed up by veteran Mike Glennon.

Additionally, questionable cornerback Sidney Jones IV (Achilles) will also miss Sunday’s game while questionable and wide receiver Collin Johnson (hamstring) is dressed. Jones joins fellow starter CJ Henderson, who is on injured reserve, as Jaguars cornerbacks that will not face the Steelers. Tre Herndon and either fourth-round pick Josiah Scott or undrafted rookie Luq Barcoo should be expected to start.

Jacksonville is also without wide receiver Laviska Shenault (hamstring) and tight end James O’Shaughnessy (knee). The Jaguars’ healthy scratches are linebacker Quincy Jones, tackle KC McDermott and tight end Tyler Davis.
