TAMPA, Fla. — A controversial club that drew the ire of business owners and neighbors in Ybor City was shut down over Super Bow weekend.

Qvesoir, formerly located at 1920 E. 7th Ave., hosted rapper Kodak Black for a VIP party on the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday.

Crowds from the club crammed into 7th Avenue, many people were not wearing a mask, until 4 a.m.

“There was a good amount of police presence but there was not nearly enough of them for the amount of people out here,” said neighbor Alex Barbosa.

ABC Action News uncovered court documents that outline several allegations against the business and its manager/owner Liavese Geneva.

In late January, the building’s property owner, Ybor Patio, LLC, filed a complaint for nonresidential property and immediate injunctive relief.

Documents state, “Qvesoir consists of a room with beds instead of tables” and “patrons sit on the beds and are served alcoholic beverages.”

Representatives of Ybor Patio reportedly observed female partially-nude patrons with “performing mock sexual acts.”

ABC Action News has learned, Geneva was arrested in October for selling alcoholic beverages without a license and for possession of unauthorized alcoholic beverages.

Documents also indicate that Geneva committed fraud in order to obtain a lease to the property.

“Ybor Patio has suffered damages and irreparable harm because of the Unauthorized Occupent’s and/or Geneva’s trespass on the Property,” court documents state.

The shutdown comes as Ybor City business owners have called on the City of Tampa and Tampa Police for heightened security and better oversight of some bars and clubs.

Some businesses have been operating outside city code and county mandates pertaining to the coronavirus.

“Super Bowl is putting a spotlight, but we’ve had this problem for months here in Ybor City and a lot of good business is suffering because of the few,” said Tom DeGeorge, owner of The Crowbar. Shut them down. Shut them down.”

ABC Action News has also learned, Geneva faces court proceedings with the City of Tampa.

ABC Action News has made multiple attempts to reach Geneva and his attorney for comment, we are still waiting on a response.
